4. What is your favorite thing about being a part of the BGCM Team?
My favorite thing about being a part of the BGCM Team is being with a group of people with a common goal to better the lives of Manhattan, KS children. It’s awesome seeing everyone have a passion for these kids, no matter what job that they are doing.
5. What is your favorite memory or moment with the Club so far?
My favorite memory of the Club so far has been showing a Board Member around our Bluemont Site. I loved being able to show what impact we are doing for these kids and also give our Board Members a visual picture of what goes on during programs.
6. If you had to pick one program, activity, or event that you enjoy the most at Club, what would it be?
The program that I enjoy most at the club would be KidzLit. This program helps kids get excited about reading by providing fun, engaging activities around a story. I have the opportunity to plan these activities and every once in a while, lead one of the activites.
7. How has being a part of the Boys & Girls Club movement influenced your life today?
Boys & Girls Club has reinforced my love for kids of all ages. It has helped add fuel to my fire to be a part of kid’s lives and be a positive role model to them.
8. As a kid what was your favorite school subject?
My favorite subject in school was Math and History.
9. Who has had the most influence on your work career?
Two people have had a huge impact on my life. My professor in college and my boss when I was Resident Assistant in college. They both taught me what it takes to be in the work force and also how I can be the best I can be. They were real about how life plays out and encouraging when I was faced with difficult situations. They also taught me to give back with the gifts I have been given so now I use my passion for kids and leadership skills to help be an impact with the Club.
10. Where are you currently on your life’s journey and what are your future plans?
Currently, I feel I am just starting my life journey. I am experiencing what is around me to find where I can best fulfill my passion to help kids. Some of my future plans is to move out to California with my husband so he can get his foot in the door for the film business and then for me to continue to be an active part of kid’s lives in my community.

My favorite candy bar would be Snickers because it has a little bit of all of my favorite flavors and textures.

Because my husband wants to get into the movie business, number one on my bucket list would be to attend the Oscars one day.
13. If a kid wanted to grow up to have a job like you, what advice do you have for them?
I would tell them to set their goals/passions, persevere and be positive in all they do. There will be bumps and there will be days where they might question why you do what you do but if you keep your eye on your goal, you can keep going. Look at the positives of the day and know that each day is a good day when you are impacting kid’s lives. Your passions will take you to amazing heights and if you are in a position where your passion is fulfilled, you won’t be able to help but smile and have a positive outlook on what is around you!
